2.1 Website

2.2 Chrome extension

The Sentinelle PII extension is distributed via the Chrome Web Store operated by Google LLC.

Detection and pseudonymization of sensitive data take place entirely within the user's browser. No detected personal data (emails, phone numbers, IBANs, etc.) is transmitted to our servers.

The extension communicates with our servers for:

• Retrieval of selector configuration (static JSON file via cdn.sentinelle-pii.fr)
• Quota management (Solo plan): sending an anonymous device identifier and detection counter
• Authentication (paid plans): sending email address and login code, JWT refresh
• History (Pro/Team plans): sending detection count (never the content)

The extension works on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and any custom HTTPS domain added by the user.

The backend API is hosted on Cloudflare Workers with Cloudflare KV storage:
